EUROPE BRINGS THE TASTE OF OLIVES TO THE WINTER FANCY FOOD SHOW
From January 15th to 17th, 2023, we “Put Europe” and European Olives at the largest trade show in the western United States dedicated to specialty foods and beverages: Winter Fancy Food Show.
Its 47th edition was held in Las Vegas and welcomed more than 13,000 professionals from the bar, restaurant, and retail sector and more than 1100 exhibiting companies.
In this unique setting, the millenary product that is part of the Mediterranean Diet was the main protagonist in a culinary tasting performed by the renowned Spanish chef Alberto Astudillo. This famous chef prepared several dressings and three dishes with different varieties of olives, through which he showed the versatility, flavor, quality and variety of European olives.
For example, he cooked an omelet with Queen Olives that surprised the audience with its magnificent flavor, in the same way the gazpacho with Black Hojiblanca olives and the pies with Green Manzanilla olives stuffed with bell pepper were very well received by the public.
A whole experience for the senses through which the professionals of the catering sector could discover new and brilliant ideas to elaborate dishes to surprise their guests and to know what it means to “Put Europe at your table”, messages of the US campaign “Europe at your table with Olives from Spain”, promoted by Interprofesional de la Aceituna de Mesa (Interaceituna) and supported by the European Union.
